Teacher-Child Interaction Therapy (TCIT)

Specifically designed for teachers from early childhood education, to help them master positive behavior management techniques that promote young children's social and emotional development
Certified PCIT Therapist Training Course
We offer professional training courses for PCIT therapists certified by PCIT International. The aim is to cultivate local parent-child interaction therapists, further promote the development of PCIT in Chinese-speaking communities and meet the parenting education needs of parents in these communities.
PCIT Therapist Certification Training Requirements:
According to PCIT International (2018)
- Possess a master’s degree or above in mental health and be a licensed/registered mental health professional
- Complete 40 hours of face-to-face training by a recognized PCIT trainer
- Complete two PCIT cases under continuous consultation by a recognized trainer
- The applicant is assessed by a recognized trainer as meeting the PCIT competency requirements
Recertification
PCIT therapists need to recertify every 2 years. If renewal is required, they must complete at least 3 hours of PCIT continuing education courses.
Training Ladder
PCIT therapists can continue to deepen their training and treatment work to become recognized PCIT Trainers, and even Regional and Global Trainers. For more information on training requirements, please refer to the PCIT International website or contact this organization.
